  1. It sounds like your project is well under way - how wonderful! I can't believe you are almost finished building the second StAIR - Way to go! I liked your idea of creating a state resource library collection for your StAIRs - easy access for all, when ever the time permits. I think this is a marvelous way to individualized instruction - allowing all stakeholders to review the information as needed. I agree with you about the October roll out delay - it might be best since you will have a new director. The extra time will also give you the opportunity to complete the second StAIR, so that your co-workers can see how then build off of each other. Great idea - Using SurveyMonkey for staff feedback - hopefully they will take you up on the open honest feedback offer, that way you won't have to work your way through the hidden meaning embedded in the sugar coated comments. Your idea of collaborating with peers regarding the development of StAIR content is a wonderful idea - input from staff will be imperative since it will help get all staff on board with the project. Great way to bring everybody on board with the project. Another great idea ~ the use of online videos helpful for teaching others to learn how to use PPT's more advanced features. Great research find (Pew Report) =8-).

  2. Julie,
It really sounds like your project is coming along and will be very successful! I really think using a survey tool is a great idea to elicit feedback. Personally, I feel that people are far more open and honest via online communication, so hopefully this will provide you with the type of constructive feedback you are seeking. I also think it will go a long way for you to include everyone and make the project “our collaboration” as opposed to simply your own creation you are pushing onto others. It also demonstrates your sensitivity to their position as you plan to provide resources such as powerpoint tutorials. One of the toughest obstacles may be the pilot nature of the project, especially since there are no other examples to point to and reference success. Instead, you will have to reinforce the importance of willingness and collaboration to the project’s ultimate success. Great plans, Julie. I really think your project is going to make a difference :)

  3. Julie,

As always, I am impressed by your work! Your podcast of your ideas for implementation are outstanding. I am envisioning this as something big! It is so great to hear about the excitement of the directors as well. I bet they are so glad to have you working for them! Your work will make a good impact on education and professional development - as long as - like you said, you can effectively get the word out! I think people where I work would be interested, so please keep me in mind this coming year as things begin to roll out. I also think you should get a bonus for all this creative work you are doing!! =) Very thoughtful reflections about possible bumps in implementation....I hope it goes smoother than you are expecting! It's so innovative! Great work!

  4. GREAT WORK JULIE!!! :) Your podcast sounded like something you would buy from a store...your voice sounded professional!! ;) I think your work and implementation is outstanding and your group will certainly be lucky to be collaborating with you. Your ideas will bring great things to education! I think using survey monkey for feedback would be a great way to get honesty! Hopefully you will not have any resistance from teachers that take the "why reinvent the wheel" stance. I think your administrator will be so pleased with this... I feel like it will be something that would not only help your group but other schools alike. It is such a wonderful idea to implement and will really be effective to communication within your group! Keep up the good work!
